Child Safety Standards
1. Our Commitment
Locals Only LLC (“Locals Only,” “we,” “us”) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) and child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”). Such content and conduct are strictly prohibited on the Locals Only app, and we act on every credible report. These standards describe how we prevent, detect, and respond to CSAE, consistent with Google Play’s child safety standards policy and applicable law.
2. Adults-Only Platform
Locals Only is an 18+ application. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the app, as required by our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use the app, and we terminate any account we learn belongs to a minor.
3. Prohibited Content and Conduct
We prohibit, and remove, any content or behavior that:
- Depicts, promotes, solicits, or facilitates the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors;
- Constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form;
- Attempts to sexualize, groom, endanger, or make sexual contact with a minor.
4. Prevention and Detection
We use a combination of measures to keep CSAE off the platform:
- Age restriction. Accounts are limited to users 18 and older.
- Automated content moderation. Text in posts, comments, and messages is screened by automated keyword filters, and every uploaded image is automatically screened using Amazon Rekognition. Images that violate our content standards are blocked before they are published.
- Human review. Reported content is reviewed by our team, which can remove content and disable accounts.
5. Reporting CSAE
Every post, comment, message, and user profile in the app includes in-app reporting and blocking tools. Reports of suspected CSAE are prioritized for immediate review. You may also report child safety concerns directly to us at info@localsonlyapp.us.
In the United States, suspected child sexual exploitation can also be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
6. How We Respond
When we identify or receive a credible report of CSAE or CSAM, we:
- Remove the offending content promptly;
- Terminate the responsible account(s);
- Report apparent CSAM to NCMEC as required by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and preserve related records;
- Cooperate with law enforcement and respond to lawful requests.
7. Legal Compliance
We comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where the app is available, including U.S. federal reporting obligations regarding CSAM.
8. Child Safety Point of Contact
